1-2-1 Training

If you are looking for help with a specific problem or want a tailored plan to achieve your goals Head trainer Jo can help with 1-2-1 training.

These sessions will help you understand why your dog behaves the way they do, and how to change their behaviour using positive reinforcement methods. The sessions are completely tailored to your dog’s age, breed, personality and needs, and to help you achieve your individual training goals. They are perfect for fixing problem behaviours or simply getting a great start with a new puppy.

1-2-1’s can help you with a variety of issues, such as:

  • House training
  • Crate training
  • Appropriate socialisation
  • Settling at home/in public
  • Jumping up
  • Basic obedience
  • Stealing/guarding
  • Recall
  • Loose lead walking
  • Impulse control
  • Manners and etiquette
  • Separation distress
  • Reactivity
  • And more!

Jo will assess your dog’s issues, personality and learning style, and design a training plan that suits them best. You will learn how to communicate with your dog effectively, how to motivate them with rewards, how to prevent and solve problems, and how to have fun with your dog. Jo will also provide you with feedback, support and guidance throughout the process. The 1-2-1 sessions are flexible and convenient. Jo will come to your home initially and then move the training to suitable locations such as your regular walk, or our Dogology Dog Training Centre near Hertford which has secure areas for training. 1-2-1 sessions are ideal for dogs that are overwhelmed in a busy class environment or for new puppies before vaccines allow them outside.

Troubleshooting (1 or 2 issues) £140

A single 1.5 hour training session with written report and follow up call. Jo will assess your dog’s training issue, personality and learning style, and teach you how to work through the issues. Potential underlying causes of your dog’s behaviour will be explored, and Jo will explain how to prevent and solve problems in the future. You will get feedback, support and guidance throughout the session, and Jo will answer any questions you might have.

After the session, Jo will send you a written report with a summary of the session, a detailed training plan, and clear instructions on how to implement it. You will then have a follow up call after a week or two, to check how you and your dog are doing, and offer any additional advice or tips.

Follow up sessions

Individual sessions are available after either 1-2-1 package and are priced at £65 per 60 minutes.
